Dear Parents and Friends of CARE –

Thank you for being a part of the solution to alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse among our youth!  Your enthusiastic support can and does make a difference in the choices our children make…today and in the future.  Flathead CARE is the only program solely committed to reducing the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs by youth in Flathead County.  Since 1983, CARE’s work has focused on children and youth, by supporting families and schools.  We are a nonprofit organization, dependent on donations and fundraising for our existence.  With donations and grants dwindling each year, we need your help more than ever!
Most recently, the federal government has entirely cut the Safe and Drug Free Schools funding for next year, part of which has been funneled down to us, through the local school districts that we serve.  As overall funding has been drastically reduced, we are seeking greater monetary support from the community to continue our prevention work.  Prevention is the proactive process of creating and sustaining conditions that address risk and promote the safety, personal responsibility and well-being of people.
If keeping our work is important to you, please consider a gift to Flathead CARE by sending $500, $100, $75, $50, $25, or whatever amount you can afford.  Your tax deductible gift, however large or small, makes a huge difference.  We also have a no hassle way of receiving your tax deductible gifts of stock, bonds and mutual funds.  We will do our very best to put your donation to the best use possible.
Thank you for all that you do to keep Safe & Drug Free programs in our schools, helping our kids stay drug and alcohol free.  It’s you – the parents, teachers and the community – that make a difference in the lives of our youth!

Sincerely,

Kari Gabriel, Executive Director

For more than 25 years, Flathead CARE has succeeded in their mission throughout many programs involved with both youth and adults. One of the main pride and joys of this organization is CARE's work with the youth in the valley. Perhaps the biggest way that Flathead CARE is associated with the youth is through the STAND organizations (Students Taking a new Direction). Club meetings are held at Evergreen Junior High, Kalispell Middle School, Linderman Education Center Cafeteria for both School District 5 High Schools Flathead and Glacier High.
