January 25 & 26, 2017
Semester assessments are required for all classes and all students regardless of student’s achievement level or attendance. The exception is the senior grade incentive. Seniors, in their 7th or 8th semester of classes, who have earned a 90% or above average for the semester are exempt from the final for that class during the week of the scheduled final assessment. The cut-off, for first semester, for determining grades is 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24. If a senior is assigned Wednesday school, in-school suspension, or out-of-school suspension for any reason, the assessment incentive is void for all classes. Attendance has no bearing on this incentive, only grades and behavior. Therefore, if a senior has an A- or an A, no referrals, and has missed 23 days of school, they would be exempt from your final.
Students Absent from Finals
If a student is going to be absent from your final during finals week, they need to make arrangements to make it up either before or after finals. If they are unexcused during those two days, they will not be allowed to make it up.
