2009 Fall Activities Schedule for the First Week

Football
All Grades 9 - 12

 Practice begins Friday, August 14th. Athletes are to pay for and pick up their Spirit Packs ($25) and turn in all forms beginning at 7:00 AM in the Glacier Team Room. First team meeting will follow in the GHS auditorium with two-a-day practice schedule beginning after.

Equipment Checkout

 Thursday, August 13th in the GHS Boys Locker Room - equipment will be checked to:
Seniors - 9:00 AM  Juniors - 9:30 AM Sophomores -10:00 AM Freshmen - 10:30 AM
Two-A-Days Practice Schedule  Daily Practice Session 8 AM - 2:30 PM
8:00 - 8:45 Film/Chalk
9:00 - 11:00 Full pad practice
11:30 - 12:15 - Lunch and film/chalk
12:30 - 2:30 - Helmet and shoulder pad only practice
Two practices with lunch and film/chalk between. Bring A Sack Lunch Each Day!
Scrimmages Navy and Green Game: Friday, August 21st @ 6 PM at Legends Stadium

Volleyball

Tryouts begin Monday, August 17th.  Athletes are to report to the GHS large gym at the tryout times that are listed below.

Tryout Times Sophomore - Seniors report from 8 AM - 11 AM. Freshmen report from 12 noon - 2 PM.
Scrimmages   Sophomores  vs Freshman August 27th @ 4 PM
JV vs Sophomores
Freshman vs Sophomores August 27th @ 5 PM
JV vs Varsity
Golf Practice begins Monday, August 17th. Athletes are to report to the GHS Performane Hall by 9 AM.
Practice Times Practice times will vary depending on course availability and will be relayed by Coach Logsdon.
Qualifying Qualifying for the first time of the year will take place the first week of golf.
Soccer Tryouts begin Monday, August 18th.  Athletes are to report to the Glacier High Commons area by 9 AM.
Tryout Times  Girls: 9 AM Boys: 9 AM
Scrimmages Boys August 27th @ 4:00 PM at GHS
Girls  August 27th @ 5:00 PM at GHS
Cross Country Begins Monday, August 17th.  Athletes are to report to the Glacier High School Fitness Room by 9 AM.
Practice Times Coach McLean will announce practice times for the week.
Time Trial The first time trial will take place at 4 PM on Thursday, August 27th at the northeast corner of the Kidsport Complex near the lone evergreen tree.
Cheerleading Students who are interested in trying out are to report to the Glacier wrestling room at 9 AM on Friday, August 14th. Coach Johnson will provide summer camp and off-season opportunities.
Theatre Auditions for the first All School Production will be held August 13th from 3 PM - 5 PM in the Wolfpack theatre and/or August 14th rom 9 AM - 11 AM. Scenes and additional rehearsal information will be available on the Theatre web site.
Speech All speech practices will begin after Labor Day. Please view the web site for more details. The first competitive event is November 1st with the Kalispell Kickoff.
Band For students who will march in the Fair Parade and readying for the upcoming year, Band Camp will begin at 8 AM on August 11th-14th with the parade on August 21st. Please meet in the GHS Band Room.
Paperwork Students need to bring the following completed forms on the first day or they will NOT be permitted to participate:
1. Physical Form
2. Parent Consent Form
3. Medical Release
Fees Students need to pay their Activity Fee of $30 prior to the first competition. There may be a Spirit Pack Fee of no more than $25 depending on the specific program.
