Pre-field Trip Activities

Depending on the community you live in, students may have pre-conceived notions concerning many things in our environment. During our electronic field trip we will have the opportunity to view many majestic forests as well as forests which have been ravaged by insects, fire, or weather. Having your students prepared in advance to look at human versus nature in a forest will allow them the opportunity to "questions the experts".

Select the following pre-field trip lesson plans for your appropriate grade level:

• K-2, 3-5 'Meet a Tree'

• K-2, 'A Plant of a Different Color'

• K-2, 3-5, 'A Happy Forest'

• 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 'Trees for Many Reasons'

• 3-5, 6-8, 'The Only Constant in the Universe is Change'
