4 (Advanced WE) - All problems are attempted, with the math process clearly communicated on each.  Odd problem answers have been checked in the back of the book, even problem answers have been check in class prior to being collected.  Corrections to problems gone over in class have been made.  Clerical procedures have been followed (headings, answers circles, etc).  The assignment is done very neatly, and in an organized way that makes it clear what work has been done.

3 (Proficient WE) - All problems are attempted, with the math process clearly communicated on almost all of them.  Odd problem answers have been checked in the back of the book, even problem answers have been check in class prior to being collected.  Corrections to problems gone over in class have been made.  Clerical procedures have been followed (headings, answers circles, etc).  The assignment is done neatly, and in an organized way that makes it clear what work has been done.

2 (Nearing Proficient WE) - Almost all problems are attempted, with the math process communicated on almost all of them.  Odd problem answers have not been checked in the back of the book, even problem answers have not been check in class prior to being collected.  Corrections to problems gone over in class have not been made.  Clerical procedures have been followed (headings, answers circles, etc).  The assignment is not done neatly, and/or in an organized way that makes it clear what work has been done.

1 (Novice WE) - Some problems are attempted, with the math process communicated on some of them.  Odd problem answers have not been checked in the back of the book, even problem answers have not been check in class prior to being collected.  Corrections to problems gone over in class have not been made.  Clerical procedures have not been followed (headings, answers circles, etc).  The assignment is not done neatly, and/or in an organized way that makes it clear what work has been done.

0 (No Evidence WE) - Assignment not turned in.  Problems attempted do not communicate a math process covered in class.  Clerical procedures have not been followed to the point of not knowing what the paper is, who it belongs to, etc.  Assignment is too messy or disorganized to know what work has been done.
