ProStart is a National program sponsored by the National Restaurant Association. ProStart is a 2 year program that culminates in certifications, recognitions, and leadership skills. Students who compete and are intent on working in the Culinary World can pursue internships, scholarships, and other advantages because of their participation in the ProStart program. In school we have a combined course focused on teaching restaurant management as well as Culinary skills. The ProStart Competition team is not required for each ProStart student, but it does provide exciting opportunities and possiblities for our Flathead High School student population.
ProStart competition teams compete at State levels, and can advance to National Levels. In both Instances they are held to very high industry standards and even small mistakes can cost them a win in their competition. It is a high energy, high intensity, and highly rewarding program.
