Bridge Academy provides the student who has difficulty succeeding in a traditional high school setting with an alternative way to earn his/her diploma.

The typical Bridge student is one who has left high school because of financial obligations, family needs or personal or social issues. A successful student at Bridge is one who is able to work on his own and is motivated to maintain a self-paced course schedule.

Typically, students enrolled in Bridge Academy work on one course at a time. Each course is structured as a 75-hour unit. Students are required to schedule 12 hours per week at the academy and 13 hours on their own for a total of 25 hours of coursework per week. On this schedule, students are able to complete a one-half credit course every three weeks. Student progress is checked on a weekly basis and credit is granted upon satisfactory completion of course objectives.

Enrollment at Bridge Academy is open in nature, meaning that students who are accepted into the academy may enter the instructional program at any time. All students begin their program at Bridge Academy by enrolling in FOCUS. FOCUS is an introductory course and required to graduate from Bridge Academy. Upon completion of FOCUS, students meet with a teacher to develop a course plan designed just for them, based on their ability, credit needs and graduation requirements.

In today's society, a high school diploma is an absolute necessity. Bridge Academy students complete coursework leading to a high school diploma in accordance with the following Montana state requirements:
