Allen Slater is the director of bands and the music department chairman at Flathead High School.Mr. Slater earned his bachelor of Music Education from the University of Montana and a Masters of Music Education from Vandercook College in Chicago.He has been teaching since 1979 and moved to the Flathead Valley to teach at Flathead High School in1988.
Mr. Slater is a member of the American School Band Directors Association, the National Bandmasters Association, and a charter member of Montana chapter of Phi Beta Mu. Mr. Slater is a past –president of the Montana Bandmasters Association, past State Manager for the Montana Music Educators Association, active in multiple state and professional committees, and helped to write Montana’s state standards for the arts.
