It is my honor and privilege to serve as the new Superintendent for Kalispell Public Schools. I am humbled by the outpouring of support that my wife Gayle and I have felt and received. We look forward to this new transition and being a part of the Kalispell community.

From my first years as a classroom teacher at the elementary, middle school and high school levels, to my years as a high school principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent it is now my joy to facilitate and lead the Kalispell Public Schools in continued positive change and improvement. I cannot do this by myself, but will need the involvement of all staff, students, parents and community to make this happen.

I look forward to supporting a professional and collaborative culture; grounded in trust, respect and transparency. I am eager to lead a climate that welcomes challenges and encourages creative problem-solving. Community support is the heart of school success, and I will be seeking your involvement and leadership in supporting a learning culture that we continue to be proud of.

I am committed to creating an environment that encourages open and honest communication between our community and schools. I would love to come to your neighborhood and talk with you about how we can continue to improve and serve our children well. If you put the coffee on and invite some neighbors, I will bring the cookies. Getting to know you and listening to your input of what is going well and areas that we can improve upon would be most helpful. Please give Beth a call at 751-3434 to arrange a “Superintendent Social” at your home, neighborhood, club or community group.

In closing, let me say again how excited Gayle and I are to be a part of this great community. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know you better. The rest of our family includes our two children; Melissa, age 35, is married with three beautiful girls and teaches HS English in Oahu Hawaii. Philip, age 32, is married with a 4 year old son and 1 year old daughter and is a Flight Surgeon in the Air Force. Our children and grandchildren are indeed our greatest blessings and we are very proud of them.

Take care and I look forward to our partnership together.
