KMS Registration Process - Key Dates and Activities by Grade

The KMS Registration process will begin towards the end of the month of January into the month of February.  Important dates and the registration timeline is provided by grade level. Due to large number of students at KMS, it becomes difficult if not impossible to make changes once the registration process is completed.  Please discuss with your student and come to an agreement on the classes they are interested in taking prior to the completion of the registration.

6th Grade TDap Clinic - Tuesday, December 11th

The Flathead County Health Department in conjunction with Kalispell Middle School will be hosting a 6th grade immunization clinic for the Tdap Booster.

Kalispell Public Schools Seeking To Fill District 5 Trustee Position

Grades 1-6 and 9 will start school on Wednesday August 29th.  7-8 and 10-12 Graders will start on Thursday August 30th.  Kindergarteners begin after Labor Day and your school will be sending notification to you.

Kalispell Education Foundation Awards over $9,000 to Innovative Projects For Teachers

    The Kalispell Education Foundation (KEF) completed their final round of funding for the 2016- 2017 school year, bringing the total of funding awarded via the Great Opportunity Grant program to over $9,000.

Every year, teachers in Kalispell Public Schools apply for funding for their special projects through this grant program.

Five KMS Students Place in Top Six Slots

Upcoming Competitions Highlight Growing Popularity of 'Mathletes'

   Kalispell Middle School mathletes brought home the top spot in the MathCounts regional competition, shutting out their competition by occupying five of the top six spots at FVCC on Feb. 16th.

   The KMS Math Team will be honored at 6 p.m. this Tuesday, March 7th at the school board of trustees meeting.

   Ballots from the two school bond measures before voters have been counted and Kalispell Public Schools can move forward with both bond measures—high school and elementary district.

   “We are extremely grateful for the trust and support of our community. We will be diligent in the use of these dollars,” Superintendent Mark Flatau said.

Student Pictures

Student pictures will be taken during Health Enhancement classes on Monday, September 10th and Tuesday, September 11th.  Please remember to have your students bring their order form on the day of their pictures.

The KMS Open House is scheduled for Thursday, September 6th.  You will find a link to an Open House form that contains detailed information about the format and schedule for the evening.  Please bring this with you to the Open House.  Open House will run from 6:00 to 7:35 pm.

Parent Teacher Conferences - November 8th

On Thursday, November 8th, KMS will hold our annual Parent-Teacher Conferences from 1:30 to 7:30 pm.  We have developed the current structure to create a more effective opportunity for parents to meet their child’s teachers.  Due to sheer numbers and limited time, you might not be able to meet with all of your students teachers.  There are a few aspects of conferences that we are asking parents to understand prior to attending conferences on November 8th.

Pertussis at KMS

Parents & Guardians - We have been notified of two confirmed cases of pertussis, which is commonly called “whooping cough,” at KMS.

Fall Sports Sign Up Date

Sign-ups for fall sports (Football, Volleyball, Cross Country) will take place on Friday, August 24th from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the KMS Commons (during our open house/tour day).

School Play Tryouts

Do you like to act, sing and dance?  Any KMS students are invited to audition for our All-school production of Disney’s Mulan, Jr.  There will be various roles including sons, daughters, soldiers, Huns, and a dragon.

  • Auditions will be January 8th and 9th after school.

Required Forms for Sports Participation

1.) Physical Exam Form - A paper copy of this form, signed by a doctor can be turned in at sign-ups.

2.) Online Release and Concussion Forms - This is a change from last year.  It is the same system the high schools use.  This portal has been opened for next year and you may fill these forms out as of June 5, 2018.  You will need to know your student's ID number and spell their name exactly as it appears in Powerschool.  These forms are required before participation can begin.  We will no longer accept these forms in hardcopy.
