KMS Announcements - Tuesday, September 17th

Washington DC Trip

Hello 8th Grade Parents, If your child is interested in attending the Washington D.C. Trip in May 2020 and they have not already signed up, please attend the parent meeting on September 19 at 5:30 p.m. in the KMS Cafeteria.  Again this is not for parents who have already committed to sending their children on the D.C trip, this is for parents who are interested in signing their child up for the trip this spring, we already have 67 kids enrolled! If you are unable to make it to the meeting but would like more information please email Mr. Schreiner at schreinerk@sd5.k12.mt.us  Thank you!

England Trip – Parent Informational Meeting

TUESDAY, SEPT. 17 @ 6:00 p.m. IN ROOM 312.  Enrollment is now open for the annual KMS England Trip for Spring Break 2020.  The 6 night/8 day itinerary includes the most famous sights: Stonehenge, the city of Bath and the ancient Roman baths, the colleges at Oxford, Salisbury Cathedral and the Magna Carta, Stratford-upon-Avon and Shakespeare's birthplace, the Globe Theatre, Windsor Castle, the Tower of London, a London city tour and neighborhood walks, and an evening theater performance... in the past we've seen Broadway-quality plays such as The Phantom of the Opera and Wicked. This trip is limited to this year's 8th and 9th graders. Families that enroll soon have more months in which to spread out payments if they wish, and students have more months to fundraise for the trip by selling the school district’s Toyota tickets ($8 for each $10 ticket sold). Enrollment is limited, so reserve a spot  for your student before the trip fills up. Come to our info meeting, or contact Autumn Gottschlich at 751-3827 or at her KMS email  (gottschlicha@sd5.k12.mt.us).

Cell Phones & Locker rooms

Cell phones and electronic devices are not allowed in the KMS locker rooms.  Cell phones and electronic devices with video or picture capabilities may violate the privacy rights of another student, therefore they may not be brought into the locker room.  Cell phones and electronic devices also happen to be the preferred target by thieves.  ?Unauthorized use and/or use in a restricted area is grounds for confiscation of cell phones of the device by school officials, including classroom teachers and supervisory aides. When any phone is confiscated regardless of? ?who owns the phone, only a parent will be allowed to pick up the phone after school?.  ?Students are provided a school locker with lock to secure their valuables and school phones are available in the PE areas for student use if needed.?
