Peterson is an implementing Response to Intervention School! This means that we have a tiered academic intervention plan for all students. Students not at grade level benchmarks in math or reading are getting extra help to be successful. Teachers, tutors and instructional support personnel all are used in a direct instruction model. Research based curricular material, resources and technology programs support our RTI program.
Response to Intervention looks different in each of our kindergarten, first and second grade levels based on their academic schedules. Third, fourth and fifth grades have a daily intervention time block from 2:25-3:15. This daily time is call our WIN (What I Need) period.
