2018 Annual Performance Report…Accountable to Our Community!

Click the link, under District Spotlight, on the district homepage, and it will take you to our 2018 Annual Performance Report which serves as an accountability summary to you, our patrons, taxpayers and community members.  It is intended to give our community a brief glimpse at our schools and departments as well as show our student achievement data through a variety of measures.  If you read one thing this year about our schools this would be it!

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE and CHANGE IN PARKING/ STUDENT DROP OFF at LINDERMAN

Our Linderman renovation started in October.  We started on Phase 1 of the project which encompasses the south end of building.  We will be adding two classrooms in the “Old Church”, adding our cafeteria back with a commons, and adding new restrooms.  I will keep you updated on our progress!

I also wanted to alert you of some concerns we are having with our Parking Lot and student drop off.  Our parking lot is very small and students sometimes cannot find a place to park.  When this happens a student needs to find parking on the street.  The only parking spaces that are unavailable are in front of the Central School Museum and the permit parking slots north of the tennis courts.  People who do not have a permit will be ticketed by the city.

I am in the parking lot during lunch and after school almost every day and it is pretty chaotic. We have had a few fender benders and the area is very congested with cars and pedestrians. This, coupled with the addition of a fork lift carrying a dumpster back and forth to the tennis courts several times a day, is requiring a change in driving/parking in order to cut down on the chaos.

For the safety of our students there will no longer be student dropped off/pick up by the back doors.  The alley way will be blocked off during school hours. This will be in effect starting Monday morning, November 12.  In addition to our safety plan, the student parking lot will become a one-way loop. I have included an aerial view and diagram of our parking lot.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Course Enrollment Form for current LEC students 18-19

Welcome to the LEC!!!

We are the alternative high school for Flathead and Glacier students.  What makes us alternative...students work independently, have the option to take online or offline courses, can create a schedule that best optimizes their learning, and will receive direct teaching when further instruction is needed. I like to say we are innovative at the LEC not alternative!

But...with the flexibility of options there is also a great deal of accountability and responsibility built into our program. The LEC has a waiting list so students must work hard and follow the program guidelines in order to keep their seat at the LEC.
