Covid Quarantine Update:
On December 2, the CDC announced that they have changed their COVID related quarantine procedures. As you know, the prior procedure was a 14 day quarantine from last exposure to a positive case.
The new protocol is a 10 day quarantine with no symptoms and no COVID test OR a seven day quarantine with no symptoms and a negative COVID test. The negative test must have been done five days after the exposure. If the test result doesn't come back by the end of seven days, you must quarantine until results come back, or until day 10. The test can either be a PCR test (which is primarily the test given at the hospital), or a rapid antigen test.
If your child is currently out on quarantine and the new protocols impact their return date, please contact your child's school to verify the new return date.
Keep in mind that all protocols related to a positive COVID test remain the same which means that if someone tests positive for COVID there will still be a mandatory 10 day isolation period.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding as we work through the evolving nature of this pandemic. The full description of the change in protocols can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/more/scientific-brief-options-to-reduce-quarantine.html
Our District-Wide Reopening Plan
Offering high quality, in-person instruction within our school communities is what we would hope to see this fall, yet the safety of students and staff is a high priority and guide our decision making as the school year approaches.
The School District and the Board of Trustees have approved a reopening plan for the start of the school year with different operational phases for instruction following local, regional and CDC public-health guidelines. A four phase plan will guide the district through a gradual reopening of our schools.
At this time, the district has made the decision to open in Phase II.
The district’s plans are subject to change based on the evolving situation regarding COVID-19. We will try to keep you as informed as possible in the coming weeks as we receive new information and guidance regarding potential changes in phases. Check this webpage often for the latest information.
