Vo-Ag Welcomes Students for Heritage Day

Heritage Days 2024

"This is the best day ever!" echoed through the air as excited 1st graders took part in our annual Agriculture Education Heritage Day last Friday. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and the energy on the field was undeniable as students fully immersed themselves in hands-on agricultural experiences.

Heritage Day, first launched in 1989 to celebrate Montana's centennial, has grown into a cherished tradition that both honors and showcases the importance of agriculture in our lives and community. Hosted by our exceptional Kalispell FFA Chapter students from Flathead High School and Glacier High School, many of whom participated in Heritage Day themselves, this special day is organized into a series of rotations filled with interactive activities.

From a hayride and petting zoo to welding and branding demonstrations, as well as creating their own fuzzy sheep and navigating a straw maze with a fun sliding exit, every KPS 1st grader left with a smile on their face after an hour full of exciting discovery. It’s a day our KPS community unites to celebrate and learn from one another!
