drivers license

Most recent update: 11/12/2018

Registration must be in person. Currently to register you must come into our office in the old Edgerton school. Student does not have to be present to register. We register only students that live within school district 5 boundaries or students that attend any of the school district 5 schools.

We are currently signing up students for the upcoming school year. View the sessions for the year at Sessions for 2018-2019.

To register you will need the following:
1. Birth certificate or passport
2. $270.00 (Check or cash)
3. Social security card

Students must be at least 14 1/2 years old when their class starts.

Suggestions when choosing a session for your student:
1. If your student participates in school activities choose a session that does not conflict with the activity and sign up early.
2. All parents should register their student well in advance of the session choice. Classes fill up early!
3. You may sign up your student even though they may not be 14 1/2. As long as the student is 14 1/2 when the class starts.
4. Students are required to have 25 contact days. We only have 2 extra days built into the schedule. Parent meeting counts as a contact day.
5. If a student can't meet the 25 day requirement choose another class.

If for some reason your student must cancel a session we need to know several days in advance so we can fill the open spot.

Current Information  Office Phone Number 406-751-3983
Starting September 11, 2018 we will also be available to register from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesdays. We will try this for a few weeks to see if it is worthwhile. We will continue to register from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM Mondays only.

Important Notice! We have moved our office to the old Edgerton School on the corner of E Washington St. and 5th Ave. EN. Enter the building on the south side. We are right next to the Pro Clean car wash.

Parent Meetings
Students and parents are required to attend a meeting before their class begins. The parent/student meeting counts as a contact day. We normally hold the meetings the Wednesday before their class begins. You will receive the date, time and location when you register. We call and remind you of the meeting several days in advance. Parent/student Meetings for Flathead sessions will be held in the auditorium at FHS. Glacier meetings will be held in the office conference room at GHS. Check this website frequently in case we have to move the location and day of the meeting. This would be rare but conflicts do occur. Under Current Information we will list the upcoming parent meeting information as a reminder. We do list the dates for parent meetings on the sessions list for each session.

Class Information
Classes consist of at least 60 hours of structured of learning experiences over no less than 25 student contact days for each student including no fewer than six hours of behind the wheel driving instruction. Of the 60 hours student will experience 42 hours of class instruction, 12 hours of in-car observation, and 6 hours of driving. Students need to complete all assignments and finish the classroom portion with a 80 percent average.

Classroom location
Flathead will hold their classes in the autoshop.
Glacier will hold their classes in the instructors room that is teaching the class
