Welcome to Kalispell Public Schools. It is the goal of our transportation staff to provide you with a seamless registration process for you and a positive bus riding experience for your child each year. Whether you are a returning customer or are registering your child for the first time, we are here to assist you in that process. Please remember that all students need to register for Transportation each year if they will be riding the school bus to and/or from school.
Transportation registration is now being done through your PowerSchool Portal - "Parent & Student Login". To ensure accurate information with registration for you and your child, we are only accepting online registration. This also enables you to sign other school required forms electronically all in one place.
To register your student, please log into your parent PowerSchool account. If you are using your phone, do not use the PowerSchool app. Registration can only be accessed via the PowerSchool website. On the left, select Ecollect Forms. Next fill out the Transportation Registration Form and submit. If you have multiple students, you will need to complete this process for each of your children individually.
If you do not have a PowerSchool account, please email psadmin@sd5.k12.mt.us.
Once your student is registered, you can select Bus Info from your PowerSchool account to see your students stop time and stop location after 1 to 2 business days. During the peak registration months of August and September, please allow a longer response time of approximately 1 to 2 weeks for these fields to be populated.
If your student is in the 6th – 12th grade and reside inside the three (3) mile limit, you must pay a fee for your child. Applicable fees are listed on the Payment Schedule If mailing in a check, please make the check payable to School District 5. Credit card payments can be made through powerschool fee system or by coming to the transportation office at 514 E. Washington.
Students qualifying for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program are eligible for free and/or reduced transportation services. Students must be approved on an annual basis. Please submit the Free and Reduced Lunch Program Application to the Food Services Department for processing/approvals. This form can be downloaded from the district web page.
We look forward to providing another year of safe transportation services to your child this school year. We can be reached at 406-751-3404 to answer questions related to transportation services. Our office hours are 8:30AM– 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
It is the mission of the Transportation Department to provide safe, timely, courteous transportation services to our customers. We are an extension of the classroom and strive to ensure each child is greeted in a professional manner which promotes a safe, bully-free, conducive learning environment.
