Multilingual Learners
At Kalispell Public Schools, we are proud to support the diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds of our students and families. Our Multilingual Learner program is designed to ensure that students who are learning English as an additional language receive high-quality, research-based support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Title III: The purpose of Title III funding is to help Multilingual Learners become proficient in English and meet state academic standards. We do this by providing robust instructional programs, professional development for staff, and meaningful outreach to families.
Following the asset-based framework developed by WIDA, we use the term Multilingual Learner to recognize the strengths, talents, and cultural wealth that students bring to our schools. This term reflects our belief that speaking more than one language is an asset to be celebrated. At Kalispell, we honor and support students’ English language development while valuing and preserving their heritage languages.
On this page, you'll find helpful resources, enrollment information, a downloadable Newcomer Packet, and contact information for our support team. Whether you are new to our district or simply looking for additional support, we are here to partner with you every step of the way.
