Profile of a Graduate

KPS teachers and educators continue to shape and define the best K-12 Student Experience for all students.

During the 2024-25 school year, KPS has embarked on a process to define the "Profile of a Graduate" through collaborative engagement across the K-12 community.

As part of that work, KPS sought the valuable feedback from parents as we create the Profile of a Graduate.

The proposed competencies represent the essential skills and mindsets we believe all students should develop throughout their K-12 education in Kalispell Public Schools.

What is a Profile of a Graduate?

A Profile of a Graduate is a shared vision across all grade levels (PK-12) that defines the competencies and skills students need to succeed in, career, college, and community.

This profile focuses on deeper learning skills, rather than just knowledge about academic content, that prepare students to navigate an increasingly complex world with confidence and purpose.

We Value Your Input

KPS parents were asked to respond to the following questions, to help shape the competencies:

  1. Which of the competencies do you view as most essential for your student's growth and future success?
  2. Do any of the competencies need additional clarity or refinement?
  3. Is there anything important missing from our draft competencies that you believe should be included?
