4.0 List Students, The current 4.0 name list is on the Library window. Please check it for accuracy. The grand total is the number of 4.0 semesters you have as of February 1st 2020. If there is an error or your name is missing, please see Mrs. Reilly in the main office TODAY. The Honors and Distinction Ceremony is Wednesday Feb 26 @ 7AM in the Auditorium. Students need to be present to receive their certificates, letters, and pins.

Aspiring Writers Hey aspiring writers, a new student essay contest is asking for you to share about your role as a change maker. How have you been inspired to take action in your school or community? Have you had to fight for a cause? Tell us about people or ideas that have touched your life. The Historic New Orleans Collection asks students to reflect on experiences that have inspired them to create change. Cash prizes. Deadline is March 13th. Please come to the Writing Center for more information on how to submit to this contest.

Authors of the Flathead If you have a story to tell either in the form of a short story or poem please consider the local writing contest sponsored by The Authors of the Flathead. They are a group of writers from all around northwest Montana ranging from novelists to non-fiction writers, screen to short story writers and poets to journalists. Their primary goal is to help one another become better writers. Their writing contest is open to high schoolers who have a short story or poem to share. The topic is wide open but there are some restrictions on the number of words of lines. Deadline is March 13th. For more information go to the Writing Center. --

FHS Parent Group The FHS Parent Group will be selling treats today and tomorrow, during both lunches. Come support our parent group, which provides the birthday candy bars to students and lunches to FHS staff.

FVCC Institutional Scholarships Application Seniors – If you are planning on attending Flathead Valley Community College in the fall, don’t miss this opportunity! The FVCC Institutional Scholarships Application is now open and available online. You complete one application and it determines your eligibility for up to 450 individual scholarships offered through FVCC. Easy! See Mr. Kelly in the Career Center for application details.

Western Aerospace Scholars Program Sophomores - Applications are being accepted for the 2020 Western Aerospace Scholars Program! The deadline for submitting an application is February 14 th . This program was designed by NASA as a way for sophomores to learn more about Earth and Space Science, Space Exploration and STEM careers. The initial phase is all online, and the second phase is a three day summer residency at the Montana Learning Center at Canyon Ferry Lake outside of Helena this upcoming June. There is no cost for students! See Mr. Kelly in the Career Center for application details.

FVCC Seniors – if you are going to attend FVCC in the fall, and pursuing an education in agriculture or are relating it to the agriculture field, there’s a scholarship available right now in the Career Center. See Mr. Kelly for details. Don’t miss this one!

Elementary Scholarships Seniors – there is a ton of scholarships now open for you, particularly a lot of the elementary school alumni scholarships. You know, scholarships for those students who attended a certain grade school. They’re all in the Career Center, so drop in and pick them up.

Parkside Credit Union Scholarship Seniors – There’s a new scholarship with a short turn around time in the Career Center. Parkside Credit Union is awarding six $1,000 scholarships to valley wide students, and you don’t need to be a member of the credit union to apply. See Mr. Kelly for an application.

Education Scholarships Seniors – if you are planning on a career in education and becoming a teacher, there currently are two scholarships specifically for you in the Career Center. Get applications before they close. Ask Mr. Kelly about them.
